Michelle Gagnon awarded a 2024 UBC Public Scholar Award

For her work on Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy as Experienced by Patients and Providers in Canada: A Narrative Inquiry, School of Nursing doctoral student and Capacity research assistant Michelle Gagnon has been awarded a UBC Public Scholar Award. Michelle’s research “aims to understand the experiences and ways in which psychedelic-assisted therapy is practiced today, healthcare workforce preparedness, and what constitutes knowledgeable, skilled, ethically informed psychedelic care in Canada.” Through the Public Scholar Initiative, Michelle plans to create best practice psychedelic-assisted therapy guidelines in Canada, which are much-needed as psychedelic-assisted therapy approaches mainstream healthcare use.
