Food access and security has become a bigger issue than ever before, since the COVID-19 pandemic hit in early 2020. The Capacity Research Unit and our community research partner in the DTES – Inner-City Women’s Initiatives Society (ICWIS) – are working together to provide essential food services to women in the DTES. Under the leadership of the Society, food bags are assembled and distributed, and hot meals are prepared twice a week, to help women stay safe and well as their access to food resources still remains limited.
To support our Society partners to continue their work at the front-line, we at Capacity are helping to facilitate donations. 100% of donations made to the Capacity Research Unit at this time will be used to purchase food for the food programs at ICWIS.
